The Church of the Epiphany has enjoyed several generations of Christian service to the Sudbury area. Epiphany is a landmark and a mainstay in the Sudbury area. There have been many changes in the life of the Church of the Epiphany over the years and in one relatively recent incident, they have literally risen from the ashes! Epiphany has exercised a remarkable ability to monitor and asses both its calling and its ministry, to ensure that they react effectively to changing circumstances and new challenges.
Today, Epiphany, while remaining a vibrant Christian force in Sudbury, is facing challenges not uncommon to most Churches, including declining enrolment and reduced finances. In addition Epiphany is a downtown, or “inner city” parish, which presents its own set of challenges. The leaders at Epiphany therefore, have determined that this is a good time to begin another planning process to look at “The Road Ahead” and to determine our goals and objectives, as we move forward as an effective and caring Christian community.
Accordingly, in March of this year, 28 dedicated members of the Church of the Epiphany, gathered to begin a visioning and planning process for their Church. What follows are the accomplishments of these initial meetings.
